Yes, the new lightweight columns have been tested independently and still pass the concrete pour requirements.
I have an existing load bearing post that I wish to surround with an Artista™ Column. Can I purchase the Artista Column split length ways?
Contact your local distributor to find out if a cutting service is available by them.
Can I use rapid set or concrete accelerators in the Artista™ columns?
No, it is recommended that a concrete of a non-rapid set variety be used.
I need to work out if the Artista™ column will fit over my square or rectangle load bearing post. How would I do this?
First, calculate the diagonal of the post. Then refer to the Artista™ columns Fixing Manual. The internal diameter of the column needs to be bigger than the diagonal of the post.
I have a 345 or 425 and wish to shorten an Artista™ column and join it to another Artista column. Is there anything I should know?
The 345 or 425 are rebated at one end to enable jointing using either a flush or rebated jointer. When cutting, ensure that you measure up from the rebated end.
I am wanting to shorten a tapered Artista™ column. Is there anything I should know?
Measure and cut from the base of the column, as the top of the column begins to taper immediately. Please consult the Artista columns Fixing Manual in relation to the maximum distance that the tapered column can be cut.
I want to fill the Artista™ columns with concrete, how much load can this take?
Please refer the load tables in the Artista column Fixing Manual to your engineer.
Can I join the 195 and 250mm Artista™ columns if I needed it to extend over 4 metres?
No, James Hardie does not have any recommendations in joining these sizes. You can only join the 345mm and 425mm Artista columns.
Can the tapered Artista™ columns be joined?
No, they cannot be joined as they do not have a rebate on them.
