What is the difference between HardiPanel® Compressed Panel and ExoTec® Facade Panel?
ExoTec® Facade Panel is a new generation engineered fibre composite panel that is sealed all six sides. It has been specifically developed to meet the requirements of commercial facades, with improved stability for a greater range of paint finishes. The ExoTec® Facade Panel has 20% higher impact resistance, requires less fixings, and is faster to paint.
Is the ExoTec® Facade Panel a type of compressed panel?
Yes
Is back coating of the ExoTec® Facade Panel required before installing as a facade?
No, ExoTec® Facade Panel is fully sealed, hence back coating is no longer required.
What happens if ExoTec® Facade Panels are scratched prior to the application of the finishing paint system?
Deep scratches through the coating will not affect the performance of ExoTec® Facade Panel. If panels are scratched through the coating, the face of the panel must be painted according to the coating specification supplied by the selected approved paint manufacturer.
What happens if ExoTec® Facade Panel edges acrylic coated are cut on/off site?
Cut unsealed edges do not affect the performance of ExoTec® Facade Panel provided that cut panel edges are painted as per instructions from the selected approved paint manufacturer.
What is the ExoTec® Facade Panel warranty?
The warranty is 10 years.
Can the back of the ExoTec® Facade Panel be exposed to UV light?
If exposed to direct UV light, then the back of the panel must be protected by either using sarking or applying a pigmented exterior grade paint to the back of ExoTec® Facade Panel.
Why is ExoTec® Facade Panel sealed six sides?
It enhances the panel’s performance by improving the panel’s moisture resistance. It removes the risk associated with an incorrect back sealing product being used.
Can I use the ExoTec® Facade Panel in domestic type construction?
ExoTec® Façade Panel can only be used in domestic construction if the ExoTec Fixing System is used.
Can any other coating system be used other than those tested with the ExoTec® Facade Panel?A. It is the responsibility of the coating manufacturer to ensure the suitability of their coating with the ExoTec® Facade Panel.Back to top
