The TimberTech® decking Vintage Collection™ is a type of polymer decking made using advanced PVC technology, designed to deliver a realistic timber look that lasts.
Hardie™ fibre cement is made from a mixture of cement, sand, cellulose fibre, water and proprietary additives. This unique formulation helps create beautiful and durable products for home exteriors, including Hardie™ Deck, that are engineered to be fire resistant, rot resistant and resistant to damage from moisture and termites.
Both products are resistant to splintering, with the primary difference being their look and feel. Hardie™ Deck creates contemporary finish with smooth, wide boards with clean lines and is pre-primed or pre-sealed, ready to paint in any colour. TimberTech® decking delivers realistic timber looks through multi-tonal colour variation and refined grain detail, while keeping maintenance easy with no oiling, sanding or sealing needed.
Hardie™ Deck is designed to stay strong as it ages. Unlike timber, Hardie™ Deck is resistant to damage from moisture and termites. When the sun beats down, you can rely on Hardie™ Deck to resist warping and it will not splinter like some timber can. The system is suitable for outdoor use including for low set decks, around the pool and bushfire zones up to BAL-29.

Hardie™ Deck is available as a fibre cement decking board system. Standard width decking boards are 3000mm in length, 196mm in width and 19mm thickness, while Hardie™ Deck Finishing Boards provide a wider option, measuring 3000mm in length, 296mm in width and 19mm in thickness.
TimberTech® decking by James Hardie decking boards are available in the Vintage Collection™ range, featuring four timber-inspired colours: Coastline, Weathered Teak, English Walnut and Mahogany. Standard-width boards are available in square-edge and grooved profiles. Square-edge boards are available in lengths of 4877mm and 6096mm, 140mm width and 25mm thickness while grooved edge boards are available in 4877mm length, 140mm width and 25mm.

As with any outdoor surface, appropriate care and supervision should always be used.
Like many engineered decking surfaces, TimberTech® decking can become hot in direct sunlight. However, TimberTech® decking is designed to release heat efficiently after sun exposure, helping the deck return to a comfortable temperature sooner. Surface temperature will vary with colour, weather and site conditions.
TimberTech® decking by James Hardie is suitable for a range of outdoor environments when installed in accordance with the relevant technical guidance. Vintage Collection™ boards achieve a P5 slip resistance rating, providing added confidence underfoot in wet areas. For coastal applications, compatible Cortex™ 316 Stainless Steel Screws provide higher corrosion resistance where required.
