Contemporary look for vibrant community

Millhaven Lodge Aged Care facility located in Pakenham, Victoria, has been redeveloped to create a vibrant and contemporary home for its large community of residents.

The new building includes 123 beds that can facilitate a wide range of care options, from independent to complete assisted living. Sheltered courtyards, gardens and a community room also form part of the inclusive premises.

The building designed by architects ClarkeHopkinsClarke skilfully meets strict institutional standards for aged care homes and simultaneously stands out as a striking piece of architecture whilst embodying the facility’s mission to provide a safe, secure, happy environment and ensure quality of life for those in their care.

Breaking away from the sterile look of traditional care homes, James Hardie’s ExoTec cladding system was used with versatile express panels bringing a light and lively feel to the building façades.

The adaptable, durable material’s ability to control the placement of panels to create unique patterns and break up facades, present a warm face for its vibrant community.

James Hardie® fibre cement products are resistant to fire, and suitable for use in applications where non-combustible materials are required in accordance with Deemed-to-Satisfy Provisions C1.9 (e) of the NCC, Building Code of Australia Volume One Amendment 1.
