Together for seven years and married for three, the contestants behind House 1 joined this tree change season with the goal of giving their one-year-old daughter, Cleo, a better future. While they don’t have as much renovation experience as some other teams on this season, it didn’t faze their confidence on the show.
Winning exteriors week, House 1 chose Linea™ Weatherboards to modernise their Australian homestead cottage. They also used Axon™ Cladding in the product's larger 400mm wide profile for their breezeway which connects the original home to their modern extension.
House 1’s Linea™ Weatherboards for their homestead are painted in Accent Shale Grey™.
House 1 created their very impressive guest bathroom that exudes contemporary cottage charm, with traditional cornicing and ceiling rose, a restored original light fitting, and VJ panelling. This was a bathroom that Block judge Darren said, was simply ‘very impressive’. The popular #VJPanelling look is a cost-effective alternative to tiling the whole bathroom that adds interest to bare walls through ‘vertical joint’ wall panels.
House 1 have delivered country vibes and bold colours with Hardie™ Groove Lining able to be painted any colour – this time amplifying the beauty of the product by painting the panelling in a gorgeous deep blue.
Hardie™ Groove Lining is ideal for high moisture areas, saves cost and time with quicker installation and is resistant to shrinking, swelling, and warping and perfectly creates cottage charm appeal.
As a proud supplier of this tree change season, we gave this season’s contestants the opportunity to use our products to turn their visions into reality – and they did just that. Be inspired by the looks and the Hardie™ products that made them possible.
